Arts Now for Kids will be a concert of new music appropriate
for “kids” of all ages and take place on the NC State University Campus in
Raleigh
on September 21, 2004 at 7:00 PM in the Tally Student Center
Ballroom. Mallarme Chamber Players will
join forces with Meet-the-Composer, Dr. Marc Satterwhite from
University
of Louisville and NC State
University composer in residence, Dr. Rodney Waschka, performing the world
premiere of two commissioned pieces, and a delightfully whimsical computer
generated piece by Beatriz Ferreyra, La
Ba-Balle du Chieu-Chien a La Me-Mere.
In addition, young musicians will perform Robert Erickson’s Pacific Sirens for Instruments and Tape,
and violinist Amy Levine will perform a collaborative work by poet Elizabeth
Levine and composer Karen Moorman, Mother
Give Me . . . for electric violin and tape. Join us for an
evening of wonderful music!
