Holidays are around the corner and I realize that fall is slipping by quickly! First! Thank you, everyone, for all the good work. I see lots of smiling faces at group lessons, many of you are playing in orchestras and ensembles, coming to lessons prepared and making good progress. Bravo! Keep up the good work.

As you know, as life gets busy, squeezing in all of life’s wonderful opportunities makes violin practice a challenge. Try to keep practicing but make it shorter on busy days, listen in the car, review and play holiday tunes as your focus. Holiday music making can be such a pleasure . . .enjoy!

Who’s doing what? Jane, Grace, Chisung, Anika, Yeeray, Yeeren, Wesley, Erica, Reed, Caitlin, and Carla all participated in the Chapel Hill Workshop. Caitlin, Carla, Yeeray, Yeeren, and Chardonnay are playing in youth orchestras, and have all performed concerts this fall! Yeeren and Yeeray played for the November DMTA recital. Yeeray has played at school with his music teacher (who grew up as a Suzuki violinist!). Erica has passed the 100 days in a row mark for her practice challenge!!! Dial, Max, Christian, and Jane have graduated to real violins. Congratulations, violinists!

What’s coming up? Brightleaf Square Holiday Performance December 7, in the lobby outside El Rodeo. Tuning is at 9:00 AM Caitlin is playing with the Durham Youth Orchestra and Chardonnay is playing with the RN Harris Elementary School Suzuki Program at Light-Up Durham on December 7. Piedmont Youth Orchestras are playing at University Methodist Church on Sunday, December 8 at 2 PM. Yeeray and Yeeren are playing on that concert. Our friends Orin and Colin Laursen are playing in recital on December 15 at 5:30 PM in Person Hall on UNC Campus. Sara, Sophie, Carla, and Caitlin have been invited to play a Service of Lessons and Carols at Christus Victor Lutheran Church. Congratulations to our hard working students and wonderfully supportive parents.

Enjoy the Holiday Season!

Musically yours,
Karen
