Students will practice Global Finger Action with Raindrop Left Hand Action and Tone Production Exercise and Group Finger Exercise.
Global Finger Action:
Starting on E string, next A, D, G and then back to E. 0-1, 1-2, 2-3, 3-4.
Now, reverse 4-3, 3-2, 2-1, 1-0.Play 4 two note repetitions up and 4 down bow.
Practice with rhythms. 4 per bow stroke, 8 per stroke 12 per stroke and finally 16 per stroke.
Finally, practice 0-1 on all strings beginning and ending with G or E. Do not repeat the top or bottom string. Follow with the other finger patterns then practice with rhythms.
Raindrop Left Hand Action:
Play quick passage on the violin body.
Look for lighter and quicker release.
Feel the reaction of the finger release more.
Tone Production Exercise:
4 down bow circle bows at the frog followed by 2 whole bow strokes down and up.
Practice each finger on each string.
Group Finger Exercise:
Play 1 then 2/3 fingers together to sound the notes B and D on the A string.
Next, play 2 followed by 3/4 fingers to sound the notes C and E.
Now practice in rhythms.
Check quickness of finger action with out the double combination. (E.g.: B to D with fingers 1 to 3, C to E with fingers 2 to 4.)
